Regulated Intuitive Processing Therapy™

A Closer Look at the Framework

This framework was born directly from my own “healing” journey. It’s what I lived. At some point in my journey, I realized nothing was actually “wrong” with me, the anxiety and sadness were my system, body, and soul trying to communicate with me, and with each other. Once I had the capacity to listen, RIPT emerged.

The shift from self‑blame to self‑understanding is the foundation of Regulated Intuitive Processing Therapy™.

In my last note, I introduced RIPT as the clinical framework guiding my work as a Holistic and Spiritual Psychotherapist. Today, I want to take you deeper into what this framework holds, why it matters, and how it shaped the healing process for me and how it is now doing that with the clients I sit with.

And I’ll never stop reminding you: RIPT wasn’t built from theory alone. It grew from lived experiences; mine, my clients’, and the patterns that reveal themselves when you sit with people long enough to see what truly supports transformation.

The Heart of RIPT

RIPT is grounded in one core truth:

When the nervous system IS settled enough, the deeper layers of experience finally become reachable. Our insight, intuition, levels of consciousness and soul finally become available or heard but ONLY when our system is regulated enough to hold it.

The Elements

There are 6 elements that shape the framework, and I want to break them down for you here.

Educative Embodied Empowerment (AKA The Somatic Doorway)

The purpose here is to reduce self‑blame for survival strategies by understanding and making sense of nervous system responses.

Surrendering to Allow Emergence

The purpose here is to identify and work within the window of tolerance.

Embracing Embodiment

I’m guessing my clients would say I’m pretty adamant about encouraging them to sit with the discomfort … and that’s maybe the hardest part. The purpose is to stay with what’s felt, because when we do that, we create safety and security in our bodies and nervous system.

Soul‑Rooted Presence / Integration

The purpose here is to make meaning of our experiences; the anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms that linger after traumatic events.

Soul‑Rooted Reflection / Continued Integration

Here, we begin to connect to something beyond the pain. Whether that’s your soul, the universe/Source, God, a higher power, nature, humanity, divinity, or the sacred within.

Experiential Outcomes

We gain clarity, alignment, self‑trust, and a sense of internal leadership. We reduce chaos and the belief that the nervous system is the enemy…and in other words, improved regulation.

Why This Framework Matters

RIPT gives people a way to understand their healing that isn’t pathologizing, linear, or rigid. It honors the complexity of the human experience: the nervous system, the psyche, the spirit, the lineage, the relationships, the intuition.

And it’s a framework that finally lays survival mode to rest.

What’s Coming Next

Over the next several blogs, I’ll break down each layer of RIPT in more detail including what it looks like in practice, how it shows up in the therapy room, and how clients move through these layers in real time.

My hope is that these posts help you understand the depth and intention behind this work, and maybe even help you understand yourself with more compassion.

This is just the beginning of a deeper unfolding. 😉
